Letter from April 18th

April 18, 2020

Dear Residents/Resident Representatives, and Employees:

Attached is a press release we wanted to share with you from our long term care association, the New York State Health Facilities association.

We want to reiterate our level of concern and reassure you that we are taking all necessary steps to protect our patients, employees and our surrounding community. These are unprecedented times and we are facing unparalleled circumstances across our community, county, state, and nation.  Our team of dedicated healthcare professionals are trained to respond in challenging times like these, and we are working daily to ensure they have both the physical and emotional support as well as the supplies necessary to care for your loved one.

We are doing everything we can to ensure we stop the spread of COVID-19 within our facility, including staying in very close communication with local and state health officials to ensure we are taking all the appropriate steps necessary under their guidance.

On behalf of our exceptional team, I would like to thank all those who continue to reach out with tokens of kindness and support for all of our health care workers.  They are true heroes!

Please trust that we will continue to keep you informed and continue to be transparent in our sharing of information.

We understand that connecting with family members is incredibly important to our residents. Family members are encouraged to connect with their loved ones through video chat, calling, texting, or other social media formats.  A facility team member can be made available to assist you.

For additional information on COVID-19 please visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website at https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html and the New York State Department of Health website at https://coronavirus.health.ny.gov/home.

Please stay healthy and be safe!

Vincent Maniscalco, MPA, LNHA

Vice President, Epic Healthcare Management
